Gratitude Circle - May of 2015
Vidya Sury is a delightful blogger whom I am blessed to have met through the A to Z Blogging Challenge in April. Joining her on the Gratitude Circle this fourth Thursday in May seemed ideal.
Without further ado, here are five things for which I'm grateful.
1. For EMTs - some of those brave emergency responders were called in the middle of the night to help my Mom when her leg would not support her weight. (I thank you!)
2. Mom is expected to be fine. ~whew~ Though prayers and thoughts would still be appreciated as she will likely need knee replacement surgery.
3. To my dad for looking out for her and taking good care.
4. To my sister-in-law who is taking time out of her busy nursing schedule today to check in on Mom.
5. For 1-800 Flowers. With my few moments spent online, she should be getting this adorable flower puppy before the end of the day. (I like the bandaged paw.)
The bouquet was not cheap, but well worth the money to brighten my mom's day when my parents live way too far away for a quick visit.
You can find my dear new friend at Vidya Sury - Going A-Musing, Collecting Smiles. I hope you'll join us. In the meantime, have a blessed day!

Okay, so I can't see through the tears. You're so sweet, Darla! My prayers and best wishes for your Mom's speedy recovery! So glad your Dad and sister-in-law are around to take care of her. That flower puppy is so adorable! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI am so grateful we're connected, and for your generosity!
What a joy to have come to know your blog, Vidya! Thank you for the kind words. Dad called again to say that the bouquet was a hit. Delivered on the same day for just a few dollars more, it was set on the table the wrong way and Mom didn't understand why my note read that I hoped the puppy brightened her day until Dad turned it around. ~grin~ Apparently, the local northeastern Ohio florists did a good job. These folks are true artists, with whom I enjoyed working during my youth.
DeleteI hope your mother gets well soon. Those flowers look wonderful! She's lucky to have you as a daughter.
ReplyDeleteComing from a person as nice as yourself, that's a huge compliment. Thank you. The flowers are a big hit with hospital staff as well as family.
DeleteThat is a cute bouquet with the puppy! Also glad she loved it and I hope she gets better quickly.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the well wishes. She is stuck in hospital until the surgery, scheduled for Sunday or Monday. But her attitude is good even though she's understandably a little nervous. Amusingly, the attendant who brought the bouquet turned it the wrong way and Mom was confused by my mention of a puppy until Dad figured out which way the basket should sit. ~grin~
DeleteGlad your mother received quick attention and your dad is there. Hope she gets better soon! That's such a cute bouquet. Well worth what you must have paid.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yesterday morning's knee replacement surgery went well and the hospital is keeping her for a few days just to make sure she stays in good health. Then she must face rehabilitation, which I know won't be fun for her. Best wishes to you and yours!
DeleteHey Darla, I nominated you for the Liebster Award. It's kind of like a chain, as you do the requirements for the nomination and that includes nominating other blogs. Its to help introduce people around, like the A to Z challenge did a little of. Anyhow, details of it are on my blog post for today, if you are interested because you don't have to do it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! What a lovely idea. I'll definitely check that out, my dear. I hope you are having a wonderful day.
DeleteHello Darla,
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I'm sorry I didn't get to visit back right away. I'm following your prompt and posted a gratitude post on my blog :) Hopefully I could do it even just once per month. Thanks also for inviting me to this linky party.
Cheers,
Maria
Maria, that's sweet of you to stop by now. I hope your life abounds with blessings.
