1. No more sweating. I always find it easier to get warm than cool.
2. There is a definitive end to lawn mowing.
3. Weeds have finally stopped popping up and taking over in my perennial garden.
4. My few perennial grasses look stunning in snow.
5. The same can be said for my couple of evergreen trees and shrubs.
6. When leaves are gone from my Harry Lauder’s walking stick it’s even more striking.
7. Animal tracks in snow are fun to see.
8. There is always a chance that snow will shut down my place of employment early an afternoon or two.
9. The purple coneflowers attract finches by the droves.
10. The buzzards are gone but that anticipation of their March return gives me a big reason to look forward to spring.
11. My weeping crabapple tree looks especially pretty with nothing dressing its limbs except the fruit.
12. Gnats and flies have disappeared for the season.
13. I might actually get to drive in snow, which I really enjoy from my upbringing in the Lake Erie snowbelt.
I prefer the cooler weather as well. I can't stand being too hot.
ReplyDeleteFun list. Happy T13!
Great list. I agree with half of them, with the provision that we don't get three feet of snow again this winter.
ReplyDeleteDitto what Adelle said. I prefer the cold weather as well, and considering we only get it eight months out of the year where I live, I enjoy it while we have it. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the commentary, dears! I appreciate the feedback.
ReplyDeleteYikes! I'm totally a warm weather girl!

You LIKE driving in snow? Want some of mine? I've been getting stuck just stopping for intersections.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the snow so much as I do the bitter cold and biting winds--especially when the chill seeps into the icebox my complex calls an apartment. How can the thermostat be set at 85, and it still be cold enough inside to require layers??
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the cold weather as long as there is no snow..Great list
ReplyDeleteDarla, where are you? They must plow better than in Wenatchee, where there is always a stupid berm in the middle of the street until February, which makes it fun to change lanes in a hurry!
ReplyDeleteAh... I LOVE snow. Even when I'm half shivering to death, I love to watch it fall. Of course, it never lasts more than a day or so, here. ...sigh...
ReplyDeleteI liked your descriptions, too, btw. I really feel like I "saw" the scenes above. :) And three cheers for not sweating! HUZZAH! HUZZAH! HUZZAH!!!
Happy (belated) TT to you! :)
I love winter. It's my favorite time of year.
ReplyDeleteI hate hot weather! I'm with you on the new season.
ReplyDeleteLucky you. I still sweat when its cold. Damn my German pores!
ReplyDeleteJanice~
Thanks for the fun comments! Janice, I should amend number one. I have German heritage, too, for what it's worth. :)
